Make-up: (not) tested on animals

'The EU passed a ban on animal testing in 2003 it has already started to be put into effect, and should be completely in effect by 2013.

Unfortunaly, there are still several animal-testing loopholes that wont be closed until 2012 (reproductive toxicity, repeat dose toxicity, and toxicokinetics animal testing is still allowed) so I wouldnt describe all European companies as being animal-testing free quite yet. But still a HUGE leap forward and a cause for celebration!

L'Oreal  has not gone cruelty-free yet and is still free to take advantage of several loopholes, so do not be buying any LOreal products (unless they are Body Shop products) untill 2012. But they are definitely more animal-friendly than it once was!'
